The "Sold" Pages (also known as the Truck & Trailer FMV Records Dept)

This is the place where you can get a decent estimate of how much your truck or a truck for sale is worth.
Skip all this blah blah blah and go to the bottom of the page now if you are really eager to get started!

You have entered the area of ToolTrucks.com where we publish the sales records of trucks and trailers reported sold. All trucks listed on the website are “For Sale by Owner”, so when there is a sale, we have to ask the seller for the sale amount. While some people gladly share this with us, others prefer not to tell anyone, which makes us even more curious of course, but sometimes to no avail. You may see some trucks with sales price marked as "Unknown" - that's why.

Why do we want to know the sale amount?

1. To help you with Fair Market Value, or FMV. The number one reason FMV is so important is that, without it, how does an owner get fairly compensated for a total loss? When a truck is totaled and the insurance company is trying a reach a settlement with the owner, where can they go for a realistic value? There is no “Black Book”, or “Kelley Blue Book”, or “Edmunds” for a tool truck, so it can be very difficult to estimate its true fair market value without some industry knowledge. We want to be fair here to insurance adjustors – they don’t see many tool trucks. Your neighbors probably didn’t know what a tool truck was until you drove it home; well, maybe one or two did. So we put together actual sale prices on these pages for reference. Please tell yor insurance agent we are here.

2. FMV is important because its needed when someone is trying to borrow money for a tool truck or trailer. The lenders we refer you to know tool trucks very well, but what about your local bank? Maybe you have your mortgage there, your business account, and your personal checking account, and you want them to finance your truck. By providing them with access to these pages, your bank or leasing company is more likely to finance a larger amount and for a longer term, saving you down payment cash out of pocket and decreasing your monthly payment. Please tell them we are here.

3. FMV also helps facilitate the process of supply and demand between buyers and sellers (a fancy way to say, we want to help the used truck market be healthy and vibrant). Buyers don’t want to pay too much; sellers want a fair price for their truck. When you look at other sales over the past years, you get a feel for what a truck is worth. This helps our truck advertisers price their truck fairly, and lets buyers know the market range for a truck of that year, length, equipment, mileage, and condition. And it helps trucks sell.

These pages have a lot of entries now, so we have broken them down by year when they were sold. These are real sales. We don’t take any credit for making the sales happen between individuals; we provide the marketplace and we collect sales price information. We have removed the contact info from the ads to keep the sellers anonymous now that they have sold their vehicle.

Pick the year to see what sold in that year. These are real world, and 2008 has the most current prices:

2008 2007 2006
