To Place an Ad

1. Choose an Ad Package. When you click on it, it takes you to the Select the Make of your truck page.

2. Pick the Make of your Truck or Tool Trailer.

3. The ad input page is next, already loaded with equipment specific to your make of truck.

4. Use the drop down boxes and select the equipment.

5. Use the Comments box to tell prospects more about your truck - write as much as you want, we have room. If you have a trailer for sale, please make as many selections as you can and then tell us more about your trailer in the comments box, and we will work it into your ad. PLEASE use the comments box - it's very important.

If we don't have something in a drop down box, like a 210 HP Cat Engine, just write it in the comments and we will get it in the right place in your ad. We change the truck equipment as needed, it is constantly evolving.

6. Fill in the remaining boxes for price, odometer reading, your contact info, and type of payment.
We accept all major credit cards, PayPal, and checks.

7. Click on Submit to send us your ad info, and then make payment.

Remember your photos

Photos help you sell! Not only will they attract prospective buyers to your tool truck ad, photos will also keep prospects looking at your ad, especially if there are similiar trucks for sale with photos.

1. Our number one tip for effective photos is - don't turn your camera sideways for tall shots. If you have ever seen a photo of something like a hammer rack with a large white border on each side, that's why it looks that way. We can better adjust your photo to fit if you don't turn the camera. The best photos are "landscape", not "portrait".

2. Our number two tip has to do with the size of the photos. If you know how to do this (don't sweat it if you don't, send us what you can), the best photo size to send us is 400 pixels x 300 pixels. That's a landscape-style photo, wider than it is tall.

What kind of photos work best?

When taking pictures, put yourself in a prospective buyer’s shoes – what would you want to see? For most tool trucks one or two photos of the exterior are sufficient, and a 3-quarter view seems to work best. Take a photo at the front and rear corners so you see a little of the front and the side or the rear and side in the same shot. You might want to include additional exterior photos if you have options like a self-closing lift gate or a special extension, aluminum wheels, special graphics, etc. Or, on the other end of the spectrum, if your truck has some body damage and you are selling your truck “as is”, be sure to show it in a photo. You can always indicate in the Sellers Comments section that more photos are available and can be emailed to any prospective buyers.

Interior photos are also important. A good view is from front to rear, rear to front, the drivers area (if a step van), and more detailed shots of the shelves on each side. If you have a workstation or drawer stack, try to show this in a photo. Again, what would you want to see? What would help you make a better buying decision?

ToolTrucks.com will post up to 8 photos for each classified ad. If you can’t get them to us at the time you place your ad, you can send them to us later. We will place a notice in your listing that photos are unavailable at the present time.

Digital Photos Work Best

If you have a digital camera, just email us your photographs. We can accept photos in the jpg, gif, and tif formats (if you’re not sure what you have, send them anyway, our webmaster will figure it out!). Please include your name and the email address you used when placing the ad along with the photos so we know which classified truck ad is yours. Digital photos can be emailed to photos@tooltrucks.com .

What if you don’t have a Digital Camera?

This may seem odd, but you don’t need a digital camera to produce digital photos. Any 35mm camera’s film can be processed onto a CD so you can email photos. Walgreen’s, Riteaid, Wal-Mart, and CVS Drugs are just a few of the retail stores that can produce a photo CD from your regular camera film. Kodak sells a throwaway camera that provides you with a CD and regular photos as part of the price of the camera.

You can Use Your Scanner too

Another way: take ordinary 35mm photos, scan them into your computer, and then email them to us: photos@tooltrucks.com . Larger photos, such as 4” X 6”, will provide a clearer image.

Mail us your Photos

If you can’t get digital photos and prefer to take photos the conventional way and send them to us, email a request for our mailing address to: photos@tooltrucks.com . We’ll scan them in on our end.

Our best tip is - Please put Photos in your ad!
